Voxitas launched its PBX-Preferred Certification program to recognize IP-PBX systems and software, which when used with the Voxitas trueVoice service, will ensure consistent, high-quality VoIP installations.
trueVoice utilizes Quality of Service-based SIP trunks to provide business-class voice service. SIP trunks avoid the conversion between IP and traditional phone protocols. In many IP phone system implementations, calls are converted from the phone service provider's network to the local IP network. This conversion point is often a source for echo and static. SIP trunks eliminate that conversion, thereby controlling the call from initiation point to the end point. This ability to control the entire connection creates a higher quality and more reliable VoIP service.
The PBX-Preferred Certification program recognizes next generation IPBX software and systems that do not require traditional telephone interfaces such as PRI, Digital T1, or Analog lines. Instead, there is a direct interface to the certified IPBX solution via VoIP; hence the connection is IP end to end, resulting in superior call quality.
The Voxitas PBX-Preferred Certification program is based on rigorous testing of applicable IPBX software and systems, which includes:
- Bench testing to ensure proper SIP trunk connectivity and quality.
- Beta testing in the field with actual business users over Voxitas SIP trunks.
- Implementing in a "general availability" environment with Voxitas SIP trunks.
