ST. LOUIS, MO -- NetLogic, a leading provider of Business-Class VoIP (voice over Internet protocol) and Internet services, today announced the availability of its next-generation VoIP product to businesses in Texas. The voice-optimized product, VoIP Choice, is now available to businesses in the largest Texas cities, including Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Corpus Christi and surrounding areas.

Businesses in these markets can now take advantage of Netlogic's VoIP trunk services designed to work with SIP-based phone systems. By interfacing with these systems and managing the local connection, NetLogic is able to prioritize voice over data and provide extremely high VoIP quality to businesses of all sizes.

“We view these cities as attractive markets for the expansion of our next-generation VoIP service as businesses here continue to seek economical and innovative alternatives to their existing phone service,” said Mike Morey, president of NetLogic. “The high level of VoIP call quality that we offer makes our VoIP Choice service the right choice in the growing VoIP marketplace.”

NetLogic has an ongoing program to certify available IP-based phone systems to work with its VoIP Choice service. Working with these certified systems, and using the latest technology, NetLogic's VoIP service offers key advantages and features, including enhanced mobility and flexibility, and ease of integration of new applications.

“The key benefit of VoIP trunking is avoiding the conversion between IP and traditional phone protocols,” said Michael Young, NetLogic's Chief Technology Officer. “In many IP phone system implementations, calls are converted from the phone service provider's network to the local IP network. At this conversion point, you often get echo and static. VoIP trunking does away with that conversion, making the internal phone system simpler and less costly.”

NetLogic's VoIP Choice also supports IAX based phone systems. IAX is the native protocol of the Asterisk open-source phone system. “NetLogic is the first service provider to be certified to work with Asterisk,” according to Young, “and a large number of our new customers are using Asterisk for their shared-line or PBX phone systems.”

In addition to VoIP Choice, NetLogic offers wholesale VoIP, SDSL and dedicated Internet, high bandwidth wireless services, web hosting, and inter-city private line services nationally.
